At the lattter part of the proliferative phase, {preovulatory phase, estrogen phase, follicular phase, whatever you want to call it} . Estrogen EVENTUALLY initiates a positive feedback loop for an extended period of time which will stimulate FSH. LH concurrently increases. It is this LH surge that initiates ovulation!!!!!!! {Notice we have gone from a negative feedback loop to a positive feedback loop}

well, yes its LH surge is just before ovulation. if their is no LH surge, their would be no ovulation.

YES, just seems like estrogen, progesterone, LH, FSH, GnRH have a multitude of actions.
