what,s your recommended age for colon cancer screening in a men with the family HX of colon cancer of father at the age of 65?

1. 50

2. 40

if the colon cancer of father is diagnosed in the age of 55, is it any difference in your recommendation

  #2

In the general population it starts at 50 years...done once every 10 years with annual FOBT
In hish risk pop, tht is if first degree relative had Dxed colon ca before 60 years, then start screening at 40 years or 10 years earlier than the time the youngest relative was diagnosed.

if the father was diagnosed at 55 years i think u stick with the 40 years age cut-off. plz correct me someone

  #4

I would choose, 40 (b).

If it was a USMLE quesion I would choose 4 years, because if you´re going to do something wrong, but the patient benefits from that: "it doesn´t matter".

if you want you can read the attachment, that supports the anwer.

sorry if i´m wrong.
