not a good question mam......... ( thats my personal oppinion) instead we can remember that only lysine and leucine are purely ketogenic... and thats the only thing that mle is supposed to ask.

drpkaur i think this is a good Q

Lippincott classifies the aminoacids as
1. exclusively glucogenic, - A LOTS MISSED IN 2 AND 3
2. glucogenic & ketogenic - TYROSINE, TRYPTOPHAN, PHENYLALANINE, ISOLEUCINE
and
3. exclusively ketogenic - leucine and lysine

LIPPINCOTT P246 E2.

I find the mnemonic used in the same page
PVT TIM HALL as a good one to remember essential AAs.
IF ANYBODY IS REFERRING HARPER PLEASE LET ME KNOW ANY DIFFERENCE IN THE LIST.
(I have a vague memory that one AA is different in harper)

unfortunately PVTTIM HALL i find dif to remember as it gives u just the first letters of the acids and ther r quite a few which share that..i prefer classifying the AAs and then learning them..eg the basic are essential, the acidic arent..so u know ur A is NOT aspartate but arginine...

Arginine and histidine are semiessential amino acids as i have read it from some source...arginine is only needed during growth period ....histidine is weakly basic...

im really sorry madame

i was not at all supposed to have hurt] your emotions

what i meant to say was that u are taking overstress remembering such things

please dont take otherwise
