I interviewed in the US embassy 26th of June 2006

My start date for my program is 1st of July

Next monday is the 17th of July

I still did not receive any call from the embassy to send them my passport. I was told this is administrative processing (BACKGROUND CHECKUP I THINK). Embassy says 8 weeks average

ANY IDEAS HOW TO GET THE POSITION IN THE PROGRAM EVEN IF I WAS SOOOOO LATE?

Well...I had that happen to one of my friends for his H1B...program was very supportive and had him go on leave by giving him the first 2-week slot....

May be you can try that at your program...

You should be asking this from the program who gave you job.

I am surprised that you have not asked them and explained your situation. Do you want to lose this match?

I am in UK and I sent US embassy email for my visa application which is pending additional administration processing for more than 8 weeks and they are saying they are waiting reply from State Department and they cant do anything about it.

My advise is call the residency coordinator and explain your situation.

Call your program and let them know what is going on ASAP!! The program needs to know what is happening with you. My program would wait because you would still get started quicker than another candidate who might have to go through the visa process, license process, etc.

Good luck - call the program first thing in the morning.
