how long? 1.5-6 months, it depends on you, when did you take your step 2ck? if it was recently and you got an excellent score, well, you don't need too much time to study for step 3. how much score do you wanna get?. so, it varies.
But your 3 months must work pretty well.

if you want it only for a h1 visa, you only need to pass it.
