A patient with MI develops ventricular tachycardia.Which drug do u think will be most appropriate to give?

Lidocaine

should'nt it depend on if the pt is stable or unstable.

stable-->lidocaine

unstable--> shock

yes lidocaine.It is a cardio depressant but we have to be careful about the doses as at higher doses it might stimulate CNS and cause seizures.

another point: Lidocaine is discouraged for prophylaxis against VFib post AMI......coz it inc teh risk of asystole [UW]
