Hi,
I was going thro the policies of ERAS and found that the deans letter is no longer taken.I have a deans letter like a LOR format ,I mean I dont have any evaluation tables and graphs(I guess MSPE has that format) .Can I still use it? I understand that IMGs are not required to submit a deans letter but I want to know if it has any effect on the overall application.
I just want to make sure that my application is complete.Any advice?

i too dont have a flashy mspe.. gonna use the same 4page bs i used last yr.. well u cant get graphs and stuff from india.. if they reject us for such a silly technicality - too bad..

Four Page Deans letter  .U must have a lot of acheivements in medical school.

well 3.5 pages are acheivements of college.. rest is how i dozed out classes regularly

apurva, how many originals do you have of mspe? i have only one and if i send that to eras i won't have any left for the future. i hope i will never require this again, but still, we never know. what are you doing. gollum

thankfully my college gave me 10 copies.. maybe it was ecstatic to see my back
i wud suggest sendin copies.. man if u have a single copy of mspe i wudnt risk it.. i know what a pain in the @$$ it is to get docs from indian colls and i wudnt want to do it again.. and who knows u might need it again for somethin like a state license..
btw which part did u go to school to? i went to ahmedabad

10 copies?! iam assuming 10 copies of the original.....or are we talking abt the Dean sitting there and signing for your MSPE 10 times?? wow...
cud u ppl gv me some details abt ur MSPE.....like does it mention about your junior/senior high school achievements? did they mention ur USMLE scores? and work experience if any, after you graduated? OR is it all limited to your time in medical school?

yes.. i had a gr8 dean
it mentions only about ur med school and ur med school achievements.. thats all which comes under deans purview..

BTW, gollum05, if iam not mistaken ERAS has asked only for the copy of ur MSPE, not original (plz crosscheck )
