Hi ,I have seen that almost all programs want 2-3 LoRs .

Since I may be able to manage only one US LOR, I wanted to know if i can use my LoRs from my home country just to take the number of LoRs to 3.

I completely understand though that the non-US LoRS hardly make a difference, but I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF USING THEM WILL PREVENT MY APPLICATION FROM BEING REJECTED?(BCOS THEY COMPLETE THE COUNT AT LEAST).

i am sure most IMGs will have this doubt ,so i request someone with an insight to answer in detail and clarify.

thanx

Don't worry if they are letters from your home country. Programs across the country hire residents every year who have no letters from the USA.

Good luck.

Brown - search through the postings here for infor on USCE - lots of posts and my continued answer:

My program hires residents every year that do not have USCE - they have never touched a patient in the usa.

Good luck

another question doc_droc_apurva and bbb:

my LoRs from home country do not begin with Dear Program Director(they are addressed like "TESTIMONIAL", " TO WHOMSOEVER ITMAY CONCERN", "LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION",etc)

is ECFMG very strict in seeing that all letters begin with "dear prog director"?

thanx again
