Whether to waive your right to see your LoRs is a matter strictly between you and the letter writer. If you already have some LoRs, you obviously did not waive your right to see them. In that case, submit the original and retain a photocopy for your records. However, if you do waive your right to see your LoRs, the letter must be accompanied by the AAMC’s LOR Cover Sheet / Instructions for International Medical Graduates. Also provide the ERAS Document Submission Form to your letter writer so that he/she can send the LoR directly to us in a sealed envelope from the institution.

ya, but can one send photocopies....the statement does not mention that fact. it only says that one should send original and retain photocopy for oneself or else if one waives it, then LOR writer should send it with cover note

hey guys look at the response of eras to my e-mail about LORs.
Dear Doctor,

Only "Original" LoRs that is written on official institutional letterhead, manually signed by the letter writer in "blue ink" will be accepted. For enhanced authentication, you should request from his/her letter writer(s) to affix an institutional seal on the LoR.

ERAS has to know that you can't control what colour ink is used. Traditionally doctors have only signed in black ink, because that is what is used in medical records, etc.
