Hi guys ,do we have to memorize the structures of all 20 aminoacids or just their names and features....what's important......

well we do end up learning a lot abt them. my suggestion is, learn them as groups
basic, acidic , neither
then essential vs nonessential
stuff like which one has a phenol ring or max buffering capacity is supposed to be imp
try making generalisations as u stury
eg basic AA are essential, acidic arent.
later u'll be required to know which are the inp intermediates...eg if they point towards the intermediate of the Kreb's cycle used in fatty acid metabolism etc...
