i know that there's a thread here for UW scores - and thank you to all that have posted there....but what i'm not getting from the thread is - what is the score range that one needs on UW to reasonably pass step 2? i've done a handful of blocks on UW - and from their own scoring, it appears that the average score genrally falls around 57% per randomized block (give or take). but what does that mean?! if i score the average on UW, will I pass step 2? someone help, please! thanks...smiling face

btw: do those "estimator equations" really work?:

(UW avg * 2.4)+84 = 3 digit score
or
UW avg+28-35 = 2 digit score

I don't know about the 3 digit score. But for the 2 digit one, it is impossible to be right. The formula you just gave is (UW - 7). If you get 70% correct in UW, your score will be 63. But according to this forum, if you can get that high in UW, you should get 99 or at least high 90 in real exam.

I think she/he means

a range starting from (UW+28) to (UW+35)

What you guys think of this formula?
Could it be true?
I know of someone who was averaging 61% and got a three digit score of 198. According to this formula this person should have gotten around 230.

chaos, sheer chaos. just take the nbme exams man and settle the issue already. i love how these equations keep popping up. i personally didnt do that well on the kaplan questions for step 1 and got a 91 on step 1. im hoping for step 2 it will be the same.

its not real in any way, youre not even in the right state of mind. atleast im not, im doing those UW questions to learn material and get better and going through questions. nbme is what ill use to see where i stand...

lets put it this way... no amount of worrying over equations is going to help you learn or understand the material any better. you might as well spend that time trying to learn something than trying to figure out whether or not youre gonna pass. the anxiety for that is futile.

BustOnStep2,

True man, very difficult to determine your score. Just study and study try to get within the averages such as 60% in UW and 75% IN kAPLAN.

gOOD LUCK!! Take a deep breath, very deep let it out slowly and relax!!wink
