When a cytogenic abnormality is suspected in an infact with multiple congenital anomalies chromosomes from leukocytes are analyzed these chromosomes are most condensed and easiest to evaluate in which of the following states ? a.-anaphase b.-interphase c.-metaphase d.-prophase e.-telophase

Remember the "metaphase spread" Its when the spread out all the chromosomes so you can visualize them. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www... http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www...

Hi sorry i dont agree here if i m not wrong ans shud be "D" PROPHASE ----remember"Chromatin in the nucleus begins to condense and becomes visible in the light microscope as chromosomes. The nucleolus disappears. Centrioles begin moving to opposite ends of the cell and fibers extend from the centromeres. Some fibers cross the cell to form the mitotic spindle" whereas in METAPHASE---"Spindle fibers align the chromosomes along the middle of the cell nucleus. This line is referred to as the metaphase plate. This organization helps to ensure that in the next phase, when the chromosomes are separated, each new nucleus will receive one copy of each chromosome" do excuse me if i didnt understand the question and in that case plz explain...??? thanx

i wonder....(after re-reading the question)....whether it shud be PROPHASE OR METAPHASE?now it seems METAPHASE to me but its really confusing wen at the end of question stem----" MOST CONDENSED"(which is seen only in PROPHASE)and 2nd "EASY TO EVALUATE"(WHICH IN THIS CASE BEST CAN be EVALUTED DURING "METAPHASE) is simultaneously given...........................than what we should consider while attempting an ANSWER???? is there anyone who can help me out here???it seems i get easly confused or i make things confusing NOT GUD thing... i will appreciate ur comments friends....plz CEDRICK or DRVIRGO help me....

Interphase.-Go-S-G1-G2 cell cycle Mitosis.-prophase .-prometaphase .-metaphase .-anaphase .-telophase That is the correct order for the phases of cell cycle .-cytokinesis

Prohase.-chromatin CONDENSES to from a well defined chromosomes .-centrosomes move to the opposite poles .-mitotic splindle"microtubuoles" form between the centromeres Prometaphase.-nuclear envelope is disrupted .-nucleolus disappears Metaphase.-chromosomes Align .-can isolated for karyotype analysis Anaphase.-chromosomes move to opposites poles Telophase.-chromosomes Decondense to form chromatin Cytokinesis.-Cytoplasm divides by cleavege
