Hello every on, I'm new to the forum and just want to say that all of you have provided me the good information. I will try to help out too if I know any questions. My test in in November and I have gone through Kaplan once and currently I'm doing a fast second look at Kaplan and writing down my notes On first aid 2006. I should have done this a long time ago, so for anyone who is doing kaplan I suggest you write down your notes in First aid so you can use it at the end for quick reference. I have'nt started with the q bank yet, and I wanted to ask anyone who can help how long does it take to go through q bank doing all of the questions and understanding them. Also how long does it take to do the clinical vignettes from q bank. Thanks

Hi, I did the same thing as you. I attended a Kaplan Intense Prep courses and I wrote down everything in the First Aid. If something was not in the First Aid I read the Kaplan book, but this was a rarity. The exception is the molecular biology/biochem book. Make sure you study the first 6-8 chapters of that one, as the First Aid is week in genetics. You should have done the questions every day of your studying, even if you have not read the material. I always did 2 hours of questions daily, at least 50 questions each, always timed and always random questions. Never link the questions to something you just read! Then I would read every answer and make sure why I understood all the questions - even the correct ones. It may be right, but it could have been luck as well. If it was something new I would write it down in the First Aid. The whole process took about 3.5 hours, but near test time I skipped the ones I got right to save some time. Try to work up your resistance so you can do 50 questions at one sitting. It took me about 2 weeks to develop the stamina to do 50 questions in a row without going crazy. Remember the Step is 7 blocks of 50 questions each, so you want to work up to those 50. You already read all the material so you can wake up, do 2 hours of questions, read all the answers, take a lunch break, read the First Aid (especially the topics you did poorly), and maybe do some questions in the evening. I had much less time than you did but I basically tried to follow this schedule. Also, if I could do it again, I would do the questions in the morning. Your test will be in the morning, so train yourself to do those 50 questions in the morning! On test day you will be very prepared mentally for it.
