when is RhoGAM given to a Rh - mother? FIrst pregnancy or second? WHen? During pregnancy or after birth??

After each birth to prepare for the next one

Administer RhoGAM Ultra-Filtered

-At 28 weeks’ gestation
-Within 72 hours postpartum
-Following spontaneous or induced termination
-Following any event that could lead to transplacental hemorrhage (such as amniocentesis, cvs, pubs, abdominal trauma)

Many sources say that in the case of an O- mother, and an A or B + father, then there is no need to give RhoGAM.

Because even if fetal RBC's enter the mother's circulation, then her anti-A/anti-B would dispose of the fetal RBC before the mother has a chance to create Rhesus Ab's.

What's everyone else's take on this? What if such a scenario came up on the boards, give RhoGAM anyway???
