hey aaaa, can you tell me what the treatment is for a women who decides to eat tons of cornstarch everyday is? it was an nbme q. is it phyciatric referal, eating d/o clinic, ssri, check her cbc, i'm not sure what to do? they say "never refer" a pt. so i didn't know what to do. the q. did say that she was aware that it is strange but couldn't help chowing down on cornstarch

It can be a associated with iron and other nutritional deficiencies and also associated with pregnancy. However, "They" don't know if it's a cause or an effect. Emedicine says refer to psych. I dunno....

We should be doing a cbc for this patient to start the inverstigations anyway.

I pick do CBC. I am expecting something wrong in CBC.
