a 43 yr woman comes to her physician's office extremly nervous because she just tested positive for HIV according to newly designed serum test.of the 1000 paitents tested , 200 paitiens had HIV,the test came back postive for 180 of them.while remaining 20 tested negative.800 paitinet did not have HIV , HOWEVER THE test was positive for 40 of them.theremaining 760 paitints tested negative for HIV.given this paitint's positive test, which of the followin is the probability that she does have HIV?

A-20%

B-24%

C-82%

D-90%

E-97%

For starters: the best way to do this q is to be able to set up that Punnet square within 20 to 30 seconds using those who have HIV and those who do not have HIV as subtotals///also memorizing the formulas for PPV, NPV, sensitivity and specificity. also knowing relative risk and odds ratio formulas doesnt hurt.
