the lateral fibres of the optic radiation carries fibres from the lower part of retina and through the meyers loop go to the lingual gyrus

then how come an obs to the medial cerebral artery causes superior quadrantanopia
please do explain

well please remember to differentiate btw RETINAL QUADRANT AND VISUAL FIELD.

superior field means inferior retina, medial means lateral

go thru the diagram twice and then learn the text, try to figure out the site of a lesion from a given defect and vice versa

it may be confusing but it aint impossible

the lower part of the retina is lookin the SUPERIOR visual field...
hence SUPERIOR QUATRANTANOPIA..excuse my spells sad

and vice versa smiling face
