total adrenalectomy is fatal without replacement therapy whereas hypophysectomy is not... give the reason ?

part of the answer is that aldosterone continues to work-hypovolemia will stimulate aldosterone

the rest is aldosterone is essential for maintaining plasma vol & its not regulated by ant pit.

so glucocorticoides are not essential?

glucocorticoids deficiency in adults only causes problems during stress and produce fasting hypoglycemia, so we assume that we can live without gc.

its just related to aldosterone, which is not under the control of hypothalamus.Thus ......
