Can anybody knows the nerve supplt of ear(External , middle and internal)

External which is the most complicated i think is as folows • The anterior half of the external ear canal -->the auriculotemporal nerve, which also supplies the facial surface of the upper part of the auricle. The auricular branch of the vagus --> the posterior half of the external ear canal. The greater auricular nerve supplies both surfaces of the lower part of the auricle. The lesser occipital nerve supplies the cranial surface of the upper part of the auricle.

the auriculotemporal nerve, belongs to CNV3 ( checked KLM) where do the last two originate from?

Hi studying ...thanks for answering this long pending question...good reply ATN belonging to CNV3 was exciting Lesser occip- C2 root greater auricular -C2, 3 isnt there a small segment inside the canal supplied by facial nerve?

i tot so too...i remember myself thinking that this thing cud never be tested coz everything innervates it!! i remember ( from memory though, not some referenced source) that ramsay hunt syndrome used to present with vesicles on the ear drum membrane ....which was probably due to the common innervation by CNVII...however even a big book like KLM mentions a oneliner on it

Yeah...I too was thinking about vesicles in Ramsay Hunt...may be auriculotemporal has facial part too...???!!!
