Well said Waq...Difficult to orient to this picture. My guess is... Part of it is the axial section of midbrain- and the coronal section of the lateral ventricle and cortex-through medial temporal lobe-hippocampus is seen on either side (like a watermelon cut in to planes -see pic!!!! (Hope I am not imagining tooooo much) Arrow points to subtantia nigra- the stain on the picture is probably staining myelin because all white matter tracts including those on crus cerebri looks dark- look at subcortical regions and callosum. The answer is E
