Hi, anyone please help me: I tend to choose "I do not waive" in the cover letter for the reference letter but do not know what generally candidates do regarding this matter! Will "do not waive" hurt my files or not?! Why are we asked about this?

Thanks a lot in advance

it gives lor a lot of weight if its a waived one and that too from a us doc.. but most us docs usually give a copy to the candidates before hand.. but most imgs usually send seen lors so it doesnt hurt to see an lor.. just my 2c..

Thanks, Apurva! I feel a bit intense to decide whether or not to waive. I just went through this forum, some suggested to ask the referee to send the letter to us and we send the copy to the ERAS. I may follow this. I've just written to my referees and ask them whether they feel o.k with this decision. Hope all goes smoothly!

by the way, would you mind if I ask you why you "pray for rain" cited in your quote?! I thought we should pray for sunshine

actually its from a bob dylan song covered by ratm about a slave who wants to break free from his bondages.. more like my take on an img blues..
