if all the paper-work is done by the employer and the form I-797 is issued. does it mean that H1B is guaranteed or there is a chance that H1B might be refused even with all the documents presented?
guys please reply!!

1. Apply and interview for residency.
2. Prematch or match with a program that will sponsor your visa.
3. Apply for the visa with the hospital appointment attorney who will complete the paperwork. You must have your step three results to do this part.
4. You will also need a state license for this.
5. Sit at home and wait for your approval to come in
6. Take your approval to your local embassy and hope they do their magic.
7. Start your residency.

thanks bbb for replying.
one thing though, how strictly they want us to prove for H1b that we are going back after we are done? i heard this is the only "Dual intention" non-immigrant visa. so are they as obssessive on this one as J1?
i know for J1 we need to provide the "Letter of need" from our health ministry, but for this one there is no need.
am i right?
thanks again!

No clue about what you are asking - that would happen on your end of the visa process, not mine. ___________________ bbb - trying to combine common sense and humour into realistic answers, but not going to guess on anyone's chances of getting into a position....

Hi, Thanks a lot bbb. I have a question. I will be an IMG. What about getting an H1B for research? I will probably also be funded from my boss' NIH grant and some other grants. Will the process be harder because of the intention of research? Thanks!!

I wouldn't be the person to advise you on this. I work with residents, not research. Sorry. ___________________ bbb - trying to combine common sense and humour into realistic answers, but not going to guess on anyone's chances of getting into a position....

If you will be sponsor by NIH, I guess you have almost 100% chances to get the H1B visa. Those people won't present an application if they wetre not sure about the results
