Hi,
I am new to this forum and would like to introduce myself. I graduated in 2000 from India and have been in the role of a housewife and mom since then. I started my step 1 prep about two months ago. I started with kaplan and small review books but it was all going over my head. My whole one month was waisted...I was very badly depressed. Last month I started fresh again, now with a bit more detailed books in my to do list. Today I completed the first of them-Physiology by Linda Costanzo. It is an awesome book. I will highly recommend it to old graduates who have been out of touch from the subject since long. It is a concise book yet detailed enough to make your concepts clear in one go. No more looking is required from here and there.
Next book that I will be starting with is Stars Pathology by Edward Goljan. Stars series also has a companion review book...but I am finding it difficult to get hold of it..it is no longer available in market. As soon as I will get it I will switch to it for a concise, faster yet clear and complete review .
My advise to old graduates is that if you are finding Kaplan notes and very concise-bullet review books hard to follow..don't waste your time getting frustated over the issue. Switch to a bit more detailed books. Although they will take a bit longer time but once done they will give you the confidence of knowing the subject really well.

Hi coolsuch,
Lippincott's Biochem is the best choice for old graduates. If you are not getting concepts from Kaplan don't waste time on it...shift to Lippincott.
