hey is anybody there facing problem in getting transscript from gov. med college(india)?
do we have to pay the bond -Rs 1 lakh and 15% interest per year to get the transript?
anybody in the same boat please reply

Hi usmlegiver,
I am also planning to get my transcript & diploma from India(not from the same school)
but, I was shocked to read your post. Is it only your school or does it apply to all the
schools in India????

Hey buddy........I guess no one has ever heard of something like that. There may be some nominal charges of getting a transcript but what u have been told is totally absurd.

i don't know about other schools but i m talking about grant med.college (JJ hosp). they had taken bond singed for Rs 1 lakh at the time of admission .it was mandatory to sign it.

hi usmlegiver......that IS the case with colleges in maharashtra...at least with the state entrance filled seats in govt. colleges......im doing my internship at JJ hospital ( dint do my UG here tho) and even im not too sure what is to be done about the bond thingie...yet to give step 1 but thats sumthing playing on my mind as im bonded too.....

they will give me transcript only after i pay the bond+interest.and i can't do anything without transcript so kind of confused  it is a huge amount so just wanted to confirm before i really pay.

Hi I am facing the same trouble as you . I was a student of Govt Medical College in Nagpur and they have said that I need to pay or they wont provide me with all the certification ECFMG has asked for.
I am currently in US and this problem seems to exist only with Govt colleges in Maharashtra.
I dunno what to do?
Have you paid them?

I hav heard they also accept marksheet copy of all years in ERAs ..just confirm with ecfmg. no problem in checking b4 u go to jjh clerk . I am sure

Unfortunately getting transcripts isnt the only problem.
We need the stamp of the dean on all the documents required by ECFMG.So even the mark sheet can be used I still have the problem.

I am in the same boat and i am sure there are lots of us who have passed from govt med colleges in maharashtra. i guess you have to pay, as the state govt is trying their best at it. i have aked ERAS and they say you could upload ur transcript anytime but defferent programs may have diff requirements. u cud check with em.

I am a undegrad from Grant medical college, and a PG from Sion Hospital. I received a letter some months ago to pay the bond amount. Can someone advise what steps to take.
Also wondering whether Sign of the Dean from Sion Hospital would do as I have done my PG from there
