Hey All
I am an IMG from India, with Step 2 CK and Cs cleared and still to give my Step 1 exam. I know that the ERAS begins transferring applications from Sep 1 onwards.
I was planning on giving my Step 1 on the 31st July but would be in much better shape if I gave it in August mid. My scores wouldnt be with me till September probably. I have heard that it is best to apply early. How "early" should this be?
1.) Would my chances still be the same if I were to send in my application in late September or the first half of October? I know scores are the single most important factor and would like not to compromise with them.
2.) How long does ECFMG take to issue an ECFMG certificate if the medical credentials have been verified and they receive the final score report say on Day 1?
I really would appreciate if someone could offer some insight.

apply as soon as you can that means september-01,dont worry if step-1 score is not reported!!!,........... by the time programmes start looking at your aplication it would have been reported.(if u apply mid september then probably by the time programme starts reviewing ur application it will be october 1st or 2 nd wekk by which time they might have got all their candidates for the interviews!!!)
ecfmg takes 3-4 days to issue ur certificate provided u have had all ur credentials verified already,depending where ur situated it might take anywhere betwenn 7-14 days for the certificate to reach you,but it gets uploaded on eras even before it reaches you.
