i don't know if i qualify as an OLD img myself cause i graduated in 2003 but i feel i've been out of touch with the subject for soooooo long. when ever someone asks me why i did not write the exam yet, i give them a stupid grin and say " cause i didn't feel like"...i know ...sounds really stupid but thats exactly whywink

to people in the same boat as mine ...i really took time off for a whole year and am now preparing for the exams..
we don't have to act and do exactly like the others and jump right away into the competetion marathon...its no problem if we lost out on an year or two or even 10. but when we are at the job lets do a good one .
..don't think of the time gone by as a waste....it was the only time to unwind because we will not have time to waste anymore once we become great docs after acing the exam...which we r all going to do very sooooon for sure.......i just wanted to share these thoughts and hope it helps.
goodluck all

Hi scooby,

Have you started studying?, how many reads?, in what subject are you on and if not when do you plan to start studying?
I am asking this because I want to join a study group, not sure if you have one?

Take care

Hi Scooby, thank you for posting that. I am a really old grad of 1995. I wasn't reading this forum probably for the entire June and when I logged in, this was the first post I clicked on and it was a heartwarming message from you. Thanks again and good luck to you!

Hey scooby I agree 100% . I spent all those years raising my kids and I don't repent it. I get a lot of love and care in return . I am sure it was worth my time.

Thanks 2006maybe? for your encouraging words for our study group. Please keep posting . It is so encouraging to see some one in similar circumstances.I wish you all the best . wink

Coolsuch, how are you doing? Are you doing biochem or something else now? One day you were online and sent me a message. I am sorry I couldn't respond as my toddler was calling me for help in the bathroomgrin I hope you didn't mind .

Thanx coolsuch for the encouragement. It means a lot to me.

Regarding mol.bio ,OMG I remember the day when I read the first chapter in Kaplan the very first day !!!! Boy it was all greek to me!!!!

Thanx to my hubby who gave me a book called " Molecular biology made simple and fun" . This is not a medical book and is written for the layman . This book gave me the basic literacy of mol.bio.

I am sure you would be at a higher level than me and I think Lippencott's biochemistry
should be a good choice for you along with Kaplan lectures. Kaplan notes make a lot more sense when used with lectures.

Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any help.GL smiling face nod
