Piaget coined that term or "object permanence" in his sensorimotor stage 18moths to 2years he also had Preoperational 2-7 then Concrete operations 7-11 I think that analagous to object consistency

Different books have different info. Im inclined to agree with you doesnt really seem feasible that an a 2 year old has object consistency.
