Can anybody give examples for
* analysis of variance
* analysis of covariance
* factor analysis
* discriminant function analysis
Look giving a good example will not only help you but it will also help others.

I dont know if apart from ANOVA others are important(high yield or not).
ANOVA is to find difference between means of 3 or more groups. Like suppose we are comparing the mean blood pressures across 4 groups (white males, white females, black males, black females).

I agree with meg, ANOVA is probably the only one we need we need for USMLE
