hellow bellow dear journal
i havent completed my topics as per schedule.... i was supposed to do 5 chaps from HY, but i just managed to do 4 till now. insha allah i will do the 5th one along with some topic from microbiology well i mentioned MICRO specifically b/c i love the subject hence i might do something from that subject or id start with gross anatomy. lets see what i really do. will report later at night now.
Hello CONECPT...: i am really thankful for ur input in my journal. well abt the 2005 FA edition...well no one advised me...but i just had that hence i wanted to use it rather than buying a new onebut i guess u are right... i WILL have to buy the latest edition. Thanks alot for ur advise.

Hi KEEPGOING.... thanks alot for welcoming me so whole heartedly.i am really glad. well yess i am done with my finals...and No i didnt take step 2 first cause many seniors suggested to write step 1 before step2 hence...i left its prep where i started and now am determined to be done with this one by Dec'07 insha allah.lets hope and pray for the best..

Yeah ! I agree that you should used the latest FA (coz' I read FA2004 and compare with FA2007, there're a lot of new stuff !)
Keep it up smarty. By the way...when do you plan to take the exam ?

I had an older version of FA and I had to go in for the latest one as well... they do have a lot more info.. I guess they keep updating it from the students' input.

thanks alot for ur input in my journal EXODUSZ.i surely wil follow this advise and will go for the newer edition of FA.
and abt the patho KLN...well i did that book once when i was in my fourth yr MBBS...and liked it. i also did BRS at that time. i thought the books rocked!!ha ha.lets see...i DO plan to go for the same stuff i used previously.
i plan to take the exam in DEC'07insha allah. hope I do take it then AMEEN

hi and hellow journal...
yeah i have returned BUT with not alot of good news.... sadly i did just half of the 5th chap from HY EMBRYO.and started with protozoa in micro but ended up reading just 2 pages from MRS. Well its not just abt the pages that counts...wht counts is that i could have done more but i was lazy and enjoying with my family friends......oooh. sad. anyways no use moaing over something not done.
id comeplete the chapter from Embryo. wil report later abt my progress than.

hi keep going...yes well i am here after a tiresome time....that is NOT A gap but all the time PREP for final yr...got over with it on 29th of may...so it wasnt alot of hoilday! but yes if i have to get rid of this step i have to do it fast...or ID just be stuck with it.
anyways journal id report abt my progress later...right now...its some guests over at my place.

Smarty, re HY embryo, not only you, I did quick 1st few chpt like you , then just slow, stop at chp 4-5, thought it is me. May be it is just the way book is written of of magic of the book . Kap is faster than HY, HY ...... every word, corner has deep meaning to know , think , so it's kind of slow.
FA, new one out every yr in as early as Oct, usually Nov for next yr. So if want to study later , buy 2008 by time. Now can dl 2006 or 2007 in this forum, look for it . I got my all almost all the book always b4 any web dl on , so I am stuck with books, my book store has no refund policy for usmle or review or famous books use for usmle.
Same here, did those HY, kap few yr ago, so though cannot remember, now save time for line, high light the book .

hey KEEPGOING. thanks for ur response too. u have always encouraged meso its a thanks TONSSSfor ur support. and yes i know wht u meant.. dont worry...i just mentioned that it wasnt a gap...cause the situation i was in alll through my final proff with my dad sick in the hospital and me studing with so many cousins around. god knows...how i managed my final year. its all upon allah to make sure i DO pass.
it has been such a tough phase.
i hope i get through with that and with my USMLE.

dear journal...
i am back. well yesterday i started with VERTEBRAL COLUMN AND SPINAL CORD. i did the chapter from KLN. and heard the DVD too. now id do it from HY.
the DVD does REAL GOOD work. after listening things dont seem that complicated!
will report later.
PLAN FOR TODAY:
complete chapter 1 (vertebral column & spinal cord) from HY.
Thorax from KLN with the DVD lecture , also start THORAX from HY.
will report abt my progress later .
i left the embryo on just 5th chap from HY. and completed KLN embryo. now time to focus on Gross anatomy.

hi dear journal
my task not completed for today. i just did vertebral column and spinal cord chapter from HY, listened to that portion from the DVD again. and started listening to THORAX too..but my ears wont take it anymore. with the headphone on my head for so long my ears have a kind of pain. so id just not listen to thorax today. may be tom id pick it up.
for today id have to do something from MICRO now...coz thats all i can right now.
i shall report about my progress soon!

Hi Smt,
If listen dvd at home, join desk top speaker or good audio speaker around 80, 100$ to get rid of head phone.
If listen at kap , just use old style $ 10 big round head phone, not ear bud in your ear that hurt. So ipod ear bud cannot listen long.Then take it off every time at pause or stop or just pause to write, or forward or rewind, break every hr from head phone at least 5 min.
By the way, I think HY embryo has magic, me also stop at 4-5 chpt, but done kap LN embryo. So will have to start both together again.
How it's going with HY anatomy ? I use kap only for anatomy , not HY , but BRS as reference .

Hi Shwe.well its nice to hear from u again.
hmm yes HY Embryo is good. as for HY anatomy...its almost the same thing as KLN of ANAT. but ofcourse there is added info in it. i really did think KLN wasnt enough for ANATOMY.. for me. so i just had to use it. Now i dont have my Lippincott of Biochem so id have to buy that when i plan to start BIOCHEM. hmm.... apart from that right now its Gym time...so id be leaving in some time. would just continue thorax today. as for yesterday i did start STAPH from MRS,, but didnt complete.
i was too tired basically.
okay journal..will post later abt my progress..insha allah.
& yeah thanks for the advise Shwe..abt the headphones. id definitel follow it. hope my ears feel better than.thanks alot for ur interest and thanks for taking out the time to post.
