well tolito is right though a third organism can be added to the 'transmitted by ixodes tick' family

Ehrilichia ( either dermacanter or ixodes ticks are vectors)

it causes HGE (human granulocytic ehrichlosis)

granulocytes are infected.

the disease resembles RMSF but the typical rash duz not occur.

one addition to the discussion of echrichliosis

( a 'pleasant' surpise i just encountered

if u dx echrichiolis in a pt presents with the characterisitc changes in the granulocytes and te clinical presentation what organism do u choose as the causative agent?

Ehrlichia chaffiensis or Anaplasma pahgocytophilum

yes!! ehrlichiosis is the disease cozed by both!!

the former infects monos and macrophages, the latter neutrophils!!

ans the latter!!
