taking b complex vitamins is very important, because they are such important cofactors in our body. for example, b1 (Thiamine) is needed fro all dehydrogenases and its also useful in transketolase cofactors. then you have b6 (pyridoxine) used in all transaminase reactions. then folate and is needed for nucleotide synthesis. b12 is needed for homocysteine methyltransferase and methylmanolyl mutase. these are just an example of few of these. the reason why ppl are urging everyone to take these vitamins is that you want to keep yourself mentally and physically fit. sometimes in the stress of studying, you may not be able to eat well, not all of us have the luxury of getting home cooked meals and eventually it will take a toll on your body. so the main reason for taking these vitamins is to keep you fit and ready to attack the exam in good health!

there is also some evidence of memory improvemnt with the B complex... The dosage is on the back of any good muti vitamin Centrum , Solgar, etc.
