Checked up on it and u both are right. OCPs are a relative contraindication in Migraine Headaches.
Why is it though that migraine headaches improve during pregnancy?
Dont OCP users and pregnant women have higher hormone levels than normal,...so shdnt their effect on migraine be kinda similar?.... or i must be totally off wth my physiology knowledge!

thanks drk1980. ocp's in a woman who has a h/o migrane especially with aura or visual disturbances increases the incidence of stroke 8 times.

you are right achilles,it is migrane,the guestion is from the internal med bank, but why??
I got it wrong ,so pls exp your answer in more details, and what about other options , why not breast cancer, it is a conradication, the que is poorly explaned as the rest of internal bank,

i'm with you drk1980. as far as my mediacl school knowledge goes, i thought the pregnant women and a female on ocp have same kind of hormonal mileu...but i don undesrstand why ocp are contraindicated in ppl with migraine..may be the mechanics are different here...may be some one can give a better expln.

OCP lowers brest cancer and endometrial cancer.
But also increase the chance for ovarian cancer?

What I got from Step2 Secret:
Effects of OCP on Breast Cancer is controversial. Some studies say it slightly increased the risk of breast cancer. So it is an unknown.
I will go with Migraine with Aura.
