Whats the mechanism of hair loss (on the head) in PCOS?
-Lack of estrogen or
-Increase androgens?

ya i agree an increase in androgen does cause baldness in males ..lolz

Does it cause male pattern baldness or thinning? And whats the treatment?

Also whats the treatment for hirsutism in PCOS?

Ok i found out: male pattern baldness in women presents as thinning.
Treat underlying cause.
Minoxidil is only effective to thicken existing hair.
Finasteride is contraindicated in women (teratogenic).

Thats true, however in women finasteride (5-alpha reductase inhibitor) can't be used.

Other treatments?

What about thyroid levels in PCOS?
