Some programs ask for USCE, some don't. Apply as soon as you can, with as complete of an application as you can.

early application is good, it give your application an oppertunity, late application will not have the same addvantage unless you're a steller candidate.so apply as soon as you can don't wait for cs results. most important search the programs some require ecfmg certificate, and you can always apply to more programs later in the proccess

Scores is solid piece of evidence that program director can use to show that you can learn and apply what you learn. PDs also know that it's not the only thing. My PD and I have learned that given the choice between "Dr. 99/99 with no personality" and "Dr. 87/87 and lots of personality", we will take Dr. 87/87 because personality is what the patients like. Dr. 99/99 can't learn to alter a personality without lots and lots of work - usually without success. That's why the interview is so important. You have to make yourself absolutely shine!!!

Dear bbb, According to your experience, what would be the Deadline for taking CS, for MATCH 2007, if you have step 1 and 2 CK scores in your hand. is it advisable to apply before taking CS?

I can't advise on what order to take the tests, I am not a doctor!! For many programs, you will need ECFMG certification - for other programs you will need to have it by the end of the year. Many other programs will want you certified for the match.

Again, every program would be different. If it's for the SF match, you have to check with the programs that are participating in that match.

I am an IMG with date of grduation- February 2002. I then joined general surgery residency and completed it in 2005. Since my latest graduation date is not more than 2 years, can I apply to programs which specifically ask for less than 2 or 3 years sine graduation?
