Recently took Step 3 and foundout I failed with 180. I am a bit surprised. Does anyone know what 180 translates to? Did I miss the cutoff by alot or a few questions?

Also, any suggestions for the next go round. I used crush the boards and USMLEWORLD questions the first time. I really need to pass it this time around.

Any suggestions would be great. Thank you all. This forum has been great.

i think you failed by a couple or very few questions, that's bad luck, i guess.

I thought just the opposite. I thought that the closer to the passing score the more question would have to be missed per point deducted?

Also does any one have any recs as to what I should do differently this time. I can't fail this thing again.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

does any one have any suggestions as to what i should do differently? I basically used cruch the boards and did the questions on UW for about 3wks. HELP?

Dear Massni, do UW again and study the answers, do QBank and stick to one book (Strong Medicine for Step 3 in my case). But the most important is, don't go to the test center if you are scoring below 360 on NBME. Generally a score above 60% in Kaplan is good enough to pass. Hope this is helpful. Good luck next time. wink
