Thanx Focus and Indi for the beautiful cards. Very inspiring.
Lately I have been freaking ou about Patho. I have gotten great advice and support from this forum. I was trying the Focus way when I became depressed and started panicking coz I wanted to take this exam at the end of March and I am running out of time. So I stopped studying for a couple of days and wasted more time. Real smart!!!
Now I have picked up physio and it is going much better. Therefore I am doing physio and patho together and aiming for a later exam date. I rather delay a little bit rather than going thru this exam again.
I am hoping to be done with first read by Feb 9th and take it from there. All I know is that I am determined to get rid of this beast b4 the summer time. Please keep me in ur prayers and help me remained focussed. Maybe I need to have a buddy like in the other group to report to and keep me in check. Any ideas r more than welcome. Neeeeeddd to stay focussed. No more excuses. Plz help.

Hi Zade, I am happy for you that you find a way for yourself. I am doing physiology too. Maybe we can do it together. I need to stay focus too. I wish I could finish section V by tomorrow. I am a full time housewife during the weekend so, can't do anything on weekend.

I start my next semester from Monday.I am dreading to go backkkkkkkkkkk.I do not want to go back.i wished things get better.I do not konw for some reasons I am feeling to low to go back to it again........................

hello everyone.. (mmm.. seems like its my 1st hello of 2007 )
1st lemme bring u upto date with things at my end. the internship completion turned out to be quite messy n stressful.. (what else could i expect frm the she devil? ) anyhow, things seem to be getting better n i should get all work done till friday evening. Well, i also have a guilt to share... i have not been able to study properly fr 2-3 weeks n have nothing to show fr this time now  Dunno why but i m not exactly a multi-task person.
So, now the scenario is pretty clear.. i have got a date wth MLE on 29th march.. That gives me 12 weeks (precisely 83 days) to master my stuff. But the good news is that now i have to focus on only this thing 24*7. So, NOW THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSES. I m gonna give it my best shot till feb mid n if its not enuff, i ll have to extend my slot n give it in april. but i m gonna try hard not to do so.
i have to finish the 1st read till end of jan n there r no two ways abt it.
i m gonna start wth anat in the mornings n behavioral sc in evenings.. or do these one by one.. whichever i can work with. but have to finish them both by 12th or 13th.. Will keep u guys updated on my progress (or god forbid, the lack of it) regularly.
Basically.. my new avatar n sign. depict my motto fr now.. i gotta do something n no one else is gonna make it happen fr me. Remember the 3 P's of success.. patience,persistence and perseverance.

Good to hear agin from Focus, Novak and mytime.
Indi: Ii is the sunrising, but there r some turtles in the water which is basically the pace I am going at. Hope to change real soon. Well u r right. Me and u r running close. I was lanning for March 27 but did not take a date as of yet and will probably go for May.
I will keep u posted re my progress. Did u sign for Q bank or something else as of yet?
Lilly: I am only up to section 2 but I can still confer with u. Will send u an email or pm.

Hi guys.. during my study, i came across an old page on which i had scribbled some qs n queries fr the immuno discussion we never had.
Well, i ws able to ans most of those now.. but 2 of those queries r still left..
1-What is the function of CD45? i mean its there on all hematopoietic cells but what does it do?
2- How does leishmania evade the immune system inside macrophages?... For example - mycobacteria doesn't allow phagosome lysosome fusion.. but what abt leishmania?
And as a special treat.. i had made up this immuno Q fr all of u.. Not too hard, not too easy.. Try it!
In the investigation of a case of criminal negligence in an underdeveloped country, it is found that a kidney transplantation was performed on a patient without following the proper tissue typing protocol. The transplanted kidney was rejected and the patient died 8 hours and 40 minutes after surgery.
The forensic surgeon, in his post mortem report has reported...
"The graft, at the time of post mortem, was white in color and seemed to be totally bloodless....but the transplant surgeon had done his job skilfully."
The patient had no previous history of any surgery or transfusions.
Called in as an expert in this case, ur prudent opinion would be that the probable cause of the eventuality was :-
A) The surgeon had not established the blood supply of the graft properly
B) The graft was not HLA matched and hence, the patient's T cells rejected it.
C) Patient had antibodies against glycoproteins of normal gut flora which acted against donor cells.
D) Patient was in a debilitated condition and was hence unable to bear the stress of surgery.
E) Patient must have been exposed earlier to a graft from the kidney donor.

okay.. now abt my progress.. Doing anat at present.. Did histo (KLN) and doing embryo (KLN+HY). should be able to start either gross anat or beh sc today. Tried HY histo but i think i ll do it wth my 2nd read.. its just tooo much fr me now

No! No need to change zade, as i cn see the turtles r in water... Turtles r slow on land but they really travel briskly in water.. thats the kinda pace we all should aim for
