Hi:
I am moving alone and keeping my focus on the nov 25 deadline. I have done about 7 chapters in BS and has nother 8 to go for probably another 8 days.
I am very confused about where everbody is in theri studies and what is going on. I think that everyone should post theri progress and future plans if any since it seems that we are all back again and alive.
Once everyone has posted the last person can paste all progresses together so we can decide on the best next step.
Let me start:

biochemistry and genetics
micro
Finishing immuno and bsci -- 1st read.
Path
physio
pharma
anatomy
are left
Was planning to do path and anatomy next.
Let's hear from the rest of the gang.
I have a set of immuno questions without answers. If anybody interested I can email it to everyone and we can compare and discuss answers.

Keepgoing......i know its hard to let go of a friend, but take it this way you can always exchange mails of all that u d like to share everyday & she can share her new experiences with u too.Then ofcourse u can always visit her anytime and both of u would be assure that u have a place back home & in Dubai. See doesnt it sound a little better now. I had the same experience with a friend who moved to Canada when i was doing my A levels, i felt really lonely too & felt that half of the world is moving away because after dad he was more of a mentor to me. But we were in touch & he was always there when i needed him. The best part is, now we both are in Canada & he is more of my husband's friend than mine  and our families exchange visits literally every week. See.....so friends are always there & they dont ever go away....remember God made the world a round place
I hope u are feeling better with the tooth too & the tooth fairy would grant you something really nice when its taken away

Alright ppl
here is the proposed time n study schedule for the wkend Saturday 25th Nov 2pm EST for Immuno n then from there onwards every wk Sat 2 pm for discussion for which ever topic we need to discuss as most of us r trying to get on the faster track of studying topics will be decided on majority votes during the wk.
Most of us r aiming for Jan Feb Mar time if any one is else is going for a latter date no problem atleast they might get to do extra revisions during that time.
So plz give me ur feedback. we r here to help each other to get across this Hurdle of Steps n aiming for the '08 Match for Residency With Allah 's Blessings

Well, haven't done much reading but I will be here for the immuno discussion, it is going to be here in this thread right?, 2 pm eastern time, mmmm, ok, I will just have to ask what is the pacific time on that.

Zade, here is my progress:
First read immuno upto chapter 14,
Read a couple of chapters of biochem, not many, didn't finish.
That's it 
YIKES!, I see that everyone has more done, congratulations to focusmle, you've read a lot of subjects already

oH!, Another thing,...I wanted to share something with you guys, so that I can have your input.
As you know I am trying to open my eyes, and see that I need to study hard for this exam, and relaly be responsible and dedicated to this, so I decided that I am not going to spend more time in my job, in order to have my free time for studying, however, there is a trip to an indigenous community on the next weekend, to do a health fair, the pediatritian who is going asked me to go, actually, I am suposed to be coordinating it, but I had made up my mind that I wasn't going because it doesn't help my curriculum, and aldo it would be a good experience personally, I think that is more important to spend that weekend studying for USMLE than driving 5 or 6 hrs to get there, and spending the night and comming back hope late sunday to work early on Monday.
So I guess what I am asking is ...It is ok to put myself first, right?, at list this time, if I am really going to study, because I imagine being one weekend away from the exam, and I am going to wish I had more time to study, and I don't want to waste more time.
The only catch here, is that my superiors are going to be very angry at me, but I am sure they won't fire me, and the pediatritian who is going, well, I am going to ask her for a letter of recommendation next year for residency so, AHAHHA, I don't want this to put a gray cloud over my person, but I guess I can explain this to her and maybe she will understand, but she did put her arms around me and asked me to go, she even offer to pay so that I would go
Well, just wanted to vent, and share and see what you guys think, thanks!!

Hi Novak, just a quick reply......we will be doing the discussion over yahoo messenger because its more convenient to do it at the conference room there. so plz give us your yahoo id as we have almost everyone there.
As for your trip thing, you are definetely moving in the right direction but tell her that you wont be able to make up ...way before hand so that she can arrange for someone & it doesnt cause her any inconveniences.

Rest of the group.......we did chapter 1-2 thoroughly......so we complete our task of this week i.e chapters 1-8 tomorrow (same time 2:00pm).

Guys......got u r PMs. Its ok friends. Since a couple of us couldnt make up for the discussion, we can start all over again. Its no big deal.
All you have to do is plzzzzzzzzz everyone, let us know your availabilty time & days.If u want we can do just 2 chapters everyday or over weekend as u all decide. Plz guys,we all need each other. Plz come up & we start all over again.
Moreover, in case u need to do something else......some other subject,we can start that as well. Mytime & Unique's group is starting a new subject now guys,it might be pharma....so plz come up & work on a plan, else i might join them .
I love u all & i dont want to lose u......so plz if u all think the same way can u plz stepup .

Hi guys:
I will be done with Bsci on wednesday and will finish Immuno tonite. Yes I know that the deadline was the 25 but I had something to do for my kids. After this I have pharm, path, physio and the whole anatomy subgroup left. I want to do two subjects at a time and I am willing to go with any ideas that u have in mind. Plz answer quickly.
I also realized that the other group is starting pharma and I was willing to follow them suconsciensly but this group is first for me. I do not want to stray from the group but time is windind up for me and I need some structure and schedule.
BTW regarding the reviews, at present time the best time for me is mon and wes from 2 to 4.
Luv u guys very much, Let us get it togetther. Only one month left in this calendar year.

wow....emotions flowing.
Listen guys pick up whatevr subject u wish for Ur discussion here it will be IMMUNO for a while then go to maybe Genetics or something at the same time those of u can follow the chaps. each day that we have of pharm...i'll be mixing a lot. U don't have to discuss that with us. We just post qs. on the thread within a few days to see how well anyone remembers. U can discuss pharm with ur group when u are done.....
No one's losing anyone it's all about gaining...friends and partners, supporters , confidence and pulling up the ones who lag.It doesn't really have to be FOCUS doing the pulling...she's already organising anyone can pull the next one up or maybe u guys sud divide responsibility...

Nah Focus is Just Being the Girl with da Whip n here we cant have leaders who arent Emotional like Hitler so though ppl might misinterpret her Emotions but Focus is being Sincere really wants to get it done. Honestly we all want the Same so its like she is Chairing the Discussions n wud like everyone of Us (our Grp) to join whether we r on the subject or not even if we havent studied for the topic. So it wud informative for all of us. The Best part is that I have Done Kaplan Thoroughly n Focus has done Immunology from Levinson Board Review so its interesting that we have collaborated 2 books together n updateing each other. We had ppl who had done their 2nd revision n were on 3 rd it was amazing that they were not on the subject but Memory was good most of the concepts Cleared.
So I hope every one to join next time Zade has Suggested Mon & wed as her suitable time so if anyone else has an availabilty conflict do let us know so we can manage our Schedule.
Zade I would Suggest u start with Patho as I n Focus r on the Same Subject. the Biggest Hurdle we have in our minds is abt PAtho n Pharma as they r lengthy subjs so just to have some ease i Suggest tackle either one of them first n so atleast u will have the some Confidence that 50% of the Course is completed. Its all in the Mind When i did Patho i took up Physio n really certain Chapters were so easy n i got thru them fast as i did them in Patho.

Hey you guys,
I apologyze for not making it to the Saturday discussion, but it was hectic that day, and I had to drive my mom to do some things, well, but there is no excuse, I don't want to make anymore excuses because time is running out and I don't only let you guys down, but I let myself down too.
I opened the yahoo account, I don't ever use it but I will check my e-mail in that address from now on, it is novakgyn75@yahoo.com, do I have to download yahoo messenger? or can I login at msn with yahoo account?, I will check that tomorrow.
I am in pacific time, so I now know, that if you guys say 2 pm it is 11 am for me, it is a 3 hour difference, so I am at work 9 am to 3 pm pacific time monday -friday, which for you guys is 12 to 6 pm, so in that time frame I can't make it, so if most of you can in weekdays go right ahead and I will join the discussion when we do it on a weekend.
I was thinking on starting Path too, like focus and new_n_lost , but since I know it is a big important subject for exam, I wanted to leave it a little bit at the end so that I would have the info more fresh when I get to the exam, so I am stil confused on what subject to continue on, maybe micro or biochem not sure, or maybe I will do 2, like zade planned and do biochem and pato, or micro and path, not sure, but that is the least of my problems I will just choose tomorrow, well tomorrow is my birthday , so I plan to start this new year studying!!

1st... my status report.. as all of u r posting that..
Its my 1st read.. n so far i have done..
Biochem n genetics (kinda 2 reads in 1)
micro+immuno (2reads in 1 again)
Histology&embryology
ok.. so next i m gonna do anat n supplementing time with behavioral sciences.
I hope to start these on dec1 n end on 10-12. After that, i ll have the BIG 3 left..Hope i can finish my 1st read in jan 1st week. I ll revise faster... hopefully..

lemme update u on things at my end....
The she-devil really took a toll on me.. Believe me guys... if focus n mytime r the whip wielders... i guess she owns a bulldozing squad 
After 1 week of fighting, pleading, arguing, praying n i cant remember what else.. it finally seems she wont extend my internship beyond 31st dec [PHEWWW!!] but i have to be at my best behaviour n be the SHAREEF BACHAA fr that time.. So dont expect me to blaze a trail by surging ahead at least not till the new year
I had chatted with nnl and focus on msngr but still apologise to the rest of u fr not making it fr the discussions..
U see, my time availability is being severely hit by the she devil.. So guys.. i can discuss on saturday nights only.. that is.. Saturday.. Any time between 10 AM and 3 pm EST on saturdays..
Sorry but on weekdays i have to get up early n go to the hospital.

Looks like u are doing better but this time gap is such a big deal..........maybe u can make 2 discussion groups so that all times are covered.
I have already discussed Immuno with my Physical study group and it was enlightening like NNl says...different ppl. different boks.....feels like a game. Good luck friends u are my favorite neighbours.
