Hello group
how r u all?
its been a week of transformation fr me. i think i'm getting back into rhythm. i m behind my target of micro this week but its due to an unfortunate tragedy rather than lack of effort frm my side. i hv got a sort of final plan ready. i m not gonna push myself too much as i ws doing earlier. this time, consistency's gonna b my virtue. gonna concentrate on my initial idea of 30 pages @ 6 hours per day.
that'll give me 1st read in 80 days. Keep going's right, i do a thorough 1st read.. though its not quite as she says... i never manage to master nething n d mind's a clean slate abt a week later
anyway, then i m gonna subscribe to Qbank n give a 2nd read in abt 40 days. A 3rd read in 20 days+ NBME n may be, if time permits... a 4th read
thats abt 140 days.. i look good fr jan end or beginning of feb n i hv gotta do it if i wanna hv any hope fr 2008 match.
i hv planned my work now.... lets see how i work my plan

Now to all of u... thanx fr guiding me abt ecfmg id... its gonna take some time.. ecfmg confirmed it. Another thing friends... if u ever wanna communicate wth them, try emailing b4 calling.. they r very efficient in replying to emails.

u should apply , as mytime sez.. 1 mth b4 exam at least but i'd say earlier.take ur time n decide a 3 mth slot that suits ur speed d best.
BTW, i didnt read ananthnarayan... i read D R Arora.. nearly a cousin book of ananth but wth diff presentation. i m also consulting it fr micro. abt immuno... will b starting it next week. plz post ur experince abt it. i'll post mine once i get over micro

 i shouldnt joke abt this but thought may be a smile will ease ur tension. i know its d worst nightmare of a parent if d child is sick.. i nearly went crazy when my niece got a sore throat abt 6 mths ago. take heart..this too shall pass. kids r remarkable n bounce back in no time. in fact, i hope lil surya is already better n running around (god bless him) how old is he?

WEll as for me i m going to give NMBE FORM 3 on 11th Sept which will decide whether i will give my exam on 29th Sept. if i get a good score around 420 + then i will give my best on 29th otherwise i will sratch the date n give a month later or so n Lily is right we old grads have to be picky abt our prep cos it matters most.
BTW look into Goljan notes for Genetics n Immunology in his General Patholgy notes they r awesome just totally incredible

Hi everyone:
I have not posted for a while cos I have been busy with my kids starting school this past week. Every thing went well and everybody already felt into their routine. Now it is time to find my routine.
New n lost: it is very good to hear from u. Keep posting from time to time. BTW did u take the other nbme: form 1 and 2? Howd did u do? Good Luck on Nonday, I know u will do well.
Well,well, well. Let us go back to me for a while. I have started to panick a liitle bit cos I have fallen behind sooooo much. This is september and I wanted to finish my first read by next month which is an unsurmontable task righ now. I am still planining to take my exam by Feb 07 the latest. Therefore I need to do a reality check cos if not I will be falling in the same pattern as before. Things will need to change.
I will be tabulating the amount of material that I have left and come up with a doable schedule for me. The push is on. If I do not change I will be back into my deprssed state. I can not afford to cos at this time in my life I really need to pass step 1.
As a consequence of this reality check I will not be surfing this forum as much and I might also not post everyday but i will check our posts often.
As soon as I figure out what my next step is going to be I will post. You guys and gals mean a lot to me. Without u I would have quit already. Indi: thanx fro keeping me focus. I reall aprreciate it. Plz do not stop.
In the mean time I might take monday the eleventh off cos IT IS MY SPECIAL DAY, IT IS MY BIRTHDAY. So: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME.

hi there guys !
well i have given NBME form 2 n i have scored 69% which is not much considering i have to give exam on the 29th Sept. so i m scratching my date n going back to a revision.
so now schedule is gonna be from Dec to Feb 07 i wont be able to do it earlier as a 60day waiting preiod is required.
My main focus wud be Biochem n Pharma as these r the 2 subjects i had problems with.
this is frustrating for me as i had prepared myself for 29 n now i have to wait for 2 whole months to give again by that time i hope i will be an expert on Biochem n Pharma.
I did not take the risk to have a fail attempt on the Score card as i m an old grad n already beyond the 5 yr limit for most residency programs So i think if i have a good scores in all the steps then maybe they will oversee my 5 yr limit

Hello everyone,
I am sad to say that I didn't start like I said I would, well, I starded and I have only read 2 chapters of biochem, which is better than nothing, but I am swamped with work, I have a project to do by Friday and is consuming all my time, and with the classes I also have to study for those, so, I am not where I want to be, but at list I am trying to bounce back and getting my mind to try to figure out a why to do a better schedule and stick to it, so that I don't waste anymore time, specially I don't want to waste any time at my house with work stuff, because they don't pay me overtime, or enough for me to do this, but I want to do my work as best as I can so it is a hard decision for me to live my work undone.
I will post again soon, I only can login about a once a week, you are all in my prayers, keep up the good work!!!

Thank u for the belated birthday wishes from Novak, keepgoing and new n lost. Love the card keepgoing. i did not have my cake as of yet as I am waiting for the weekend to celebrate with my family.
New n lost: sorry to hear about u having to reschedule your exam. What is a good score on this NBME forms? In a way I am glad that u will be with this group for alittle while longer coz u really take everyone cause at heart.
For me I have been moving very slow almost like a down mode. I have been feeling more tired than usual and thinking about investing in some vitamins. Word has been on this forum that Vitamins B is a good supplement. Is this right?
I am praying that I will pick up some speed soon. Will keep posting my progress or failure from time to time.

New_Lost ....... Thanks for volunteering to help us buddy. I personally think that you have taken A WISE DECISION.......getting a 99 after 2 months is DEFINETELY BETTER than getting a lower score right now. So ALL THE BEST FRIEND!!
Regarding my progress.......i have done Beh sciences.......THANKS TO THE ALMIGHTY.......and am doing Anatomy right now. But i was thinking maybe we can do a little pharma together. Maybe just 5 pages a day or so because i cant take anymore than that. Let me know soon ok.
