Hello Everybody, Although I have been a regular visitor to this forum, I have never posted anything. This is my first contribution; I decided to wait until after my exam to do it. I took my test a few days ago, I was quite relaxed until the car ride over to the testing center. As I made my way up the steps my heart began beating rapidly and I started to sweat profusely. I thought to myself "How am I going to survive 8 hours?!" But thankfully the staff at the center were so nice that I was put at ease instantly. I had a gameplan going in, I was going to do 4 blocks, take a short break, then do two, break, one, break, final block. Ofcourse it didn't go that way. I did my first block then felt quite restless, so I took a 2 minute water break. I then did 2 more, rested my eyes without leaving my station and did another block. I then took a lunch break and went back to work. I did 2 then a break then the last two. I finished with 1 hour and twenty minutes left on the clock. The point I am trying to make is for you to keep it light. Try to take things one block at a time and not worry about all 8 BLOCKS. When you are tired, or thirsty, take a break. You will find that you need little more than a few minutes. As for the questions themselves, some were ridiculously easy, to the point that I had to rub my eyes to make sure I was reading them correctly! I had some trouble in the middle, were I answered by exclusion, sometimes choosing answeres I had never heard of before. But overall I am content with my performance. Now onto the CS. Regards, Amir.

This is exactly what i went thru last year when i took step 1. pounding heart, coming out of my mouth, haha. it began when i started answering the questions, but after the 15-20th question, it was gone. I really thought my heart was going to explode!!!! this time, for step 2, iŽll go slowly and see all the steps from the tutorial and breathe easily and calm down (step one I skipped the tutorial - bad move), so when I reach the questions my heart will be at a rate less than 150 bpm, hopefully. Thanks for posting your experience !!!! Hope your score comes as high as you wish, (99), good luck on CS!!!

Hey Som, I studied the kaplan notes for about 3 weeks then did usmleworld for about 3 more...that's all. UW is, in my view, ESSENTIAL!! Also, I would, while doing the uw qbank, read over certain topics in the FRIST AID book. Also, I took a diagnostic test (nbme) 3 weeks before the test and didn't do well at all. But after doing some uw, my score sky-rocketed. Hope this helps. Regards, Amir

I thank you both for your kind words. Good luck, here's a tip i read earlier; Use the laminated sheet they give you for encouragement...give youself a little boost after finishing each block. Tell us how it goes.

like some words to encourage myself and give enuogh confident.it depend on u what exactly gives u good feeling.for example after any block i wrote "good job"or if that was hard i wrote"dont give up "i dunno it sounds funny right now but that moment reduced my stress so well.
