Hi,

I am going to take CS in early july.So geting prepared for it.My couple of good questions goes to people like P53 and digitaldoc and all the knowledgable guys.

1.If the patient has shown pain during abdominal palpation....do we check 4 rebound tenderness in a case of suspected appendicitis.aren't we supposed "not to touch" that painful region again.

2.little stupid but genuine question is how do we dry our hands after washing them....are the tissue paper or heat dryer available there in examination room .?or do we depend on room air for drying our hands / and the apron pockets?

3.we should never examine the patient through the gown. And I am not sure what to tell the patient to expose inguinal region...if I want to look for inguinal nodes.Dont want to ask him for removing his trouser as it will surely take too much of very precious time....

Do u advice skipping it..even if it is needed?

sorry the questions became triple instead of couple...if i stay here for long.....high probability of seeing a quadraple.

reply soon....all forum seniors....and digitaldoc...P53

One thing I can say is Never Shake hands with patient of Pain in Abdomen - Severe or Shoulder pain and of course Phone case

The only important part is palpation because it is a clinical diagnosis - palpation is must-- I mean can't Skip.you may say I will be very gentle and cause you minimum discomfort. You diagnose Ac Appendicitis after u elicit the sign.-- Be Gentle though.
forum seniors - please give your opinion, I want to know this too.
