23. During an experimental study, a researcher isolates a neuromuscular preparation and stimulates the motor nerve in the presence of a small dose of tubocurarine to achieve a submaximal response. The resulting end-plate potential (EPP) is measured in both 0.9% saline (control) and in the presence of neostigmine (experimental). The EPP of the experimental group is increased in both amplitude and duration. Which of the following molecular targets is the most likely cause of this effect?

A ) Acetylcholinesterase

B ) Choline acetyltransferase

C ) Muscarinic acetylcholine receptor

D ) Nicotinic acetylcholine receptor

E ) Voltage-sensitive sodium channel

24. A 35-year-old woman comes to the physician because of intermittent tingling and numbness of her feet during the past 6 months. She has a 30-year history of type 1 diabetes mellitus. Sensation of joint position is decreased in the toes and ankles, and vibration sense is decreased in the feet. There are decreased ankle jerks bilaterally. Pathologic changes of which of the following most likely occurred in this patient?

A ) Dorsal columns of the spinal cord

B ) Large-diameter axons of the distal portions of peripheral nerves

C ) Motoneurons of the lumbosacral spinal cord

D ) Spinocerebellar tracts of the spinal cord

E ) Spinothalamic tract neurons of the dorsal horn

26. A 17-year-old girl develops torticollis and diffuse muscle rigidity 3 hours after starting a new drug for a psychiatric disorder. The most likely cause of these findings is the antagonism of which of the following receptors?

A ) α1-Adrenergic

B ) β2-Adrenergic

C ) Dopaminergic (D2)

D ) Muscarinic (M2)

E ) Serotoninergic 1A

F ) Serotoninergic 2

You're right nadia, rman gave answers making me careless.

For question 26, answer should be C, this is extrapyramidal symptoms due to dopamine blockage, thanks nadia.

For question 23, answer is A, this experimental group used Neostigmine, resulting in increase in both amplitude and duration.

#24, why not A, "Sensation of joint position is decreased in the toes and ankles, and vibration sense is decreased in the feet" aren' these signs of dorsal column lesion?

antideporessant you are right this can be a part of a dorsalcolumn median leminiscal lesion
but dorsal cloumns are affected in diseases like trabes dorsalis in diabetes type 1 dorsal columns would be un affected
and i am not sure about the dopamine answert as well

  #11

thank you ferritin, that diabetes is the key then.
