Hi all, I recently did the sample 150-question test available at usmle.org. I would like to know how to translate the score of this practice test to the real thing. For instance, I averaged 26 correct questions in each of the 3, 50-question blocks. What would be my score? Or do I just multiply 26x7=182?? I know test scores are adjusted, but I would like an (informed) opinion. I'll be taking another diagnostic soon (2-3 days before the test) so I would like to know where I'm at. By the way, I just want to pass, not break 240!! It seems this forum is filled by people who scored over 240, and I'm just not like that.

your 2-digit score is the percent of correctly answered questions + 10, so 52% (26 out of 50) + 10 is 62 (passing score is 75). you should answer 60-70% of questions correctly to get the lowest passing score (65% + 10 is 75). for NBME mean is 500 and 1 Standard Deviation is 100. also see http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/comments.php?id=3... & http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/thread/32973

So in other words I need to practice some more... I did this test without reviewing any material before taking it, and I have 9 days to go. Or am going to get screwed in this test?
