I recieved my score few days ago.I failed to pass step 1 exam ,have been shocked since then because I realize what a negative impact on my chances later on getting a residency position .I know that's a big loss and unretrievable but can't do anything about it.
looking at my performance profile that sent makes me feel disappointed with the lines shifted to the left side of borderline (means low performance). my score was just below the passing score.
Thinking of a failing score is better than just passing with 75 ,which is relieving for me,besides I know that I did not do my best .I also know my waeknesses in addition to lack of revision.
I'm sitting now to put a study plan to retake the exam in less than 3 month period but don't know how to start ,just need the ignition and it will continue by itself .
A word to say to whoever will take the exam soon .DON'T GO FOR IT UNLESS YOU HAVE A DEGREE OF SATISFACTION ABOUT YOUR PREP. you will never feel fully prepared for it ,because there is always something you don't know,so try to do your best to reach a point of self confidence to go for the exam and as it has been always said ....DOING QUESTIONS.... is a key .
AS we learn from stories of sucess ,we learn from a failing ones to avoid the mistakes that have been done by the others.
just pray for me that I can regain enough energy to study again in more effective way to retake my exam again.

sorry about your bad score but be encouraged and go for step 2 better prepared and it will be well.

Hey Achillis! don't get discouraged. It is good for you that you know your weaknesses and are ready to work harder this time. Put your best into it and you will pass with flying colors. All my prayers are with you. Best of luck.

hey achillis
i know it feels bad. but try and look at th ebright side of it , ts better to fail rather then to get very low marks , i m sure u heard this abt USMLES.
u cantake this way ,see soo many ppl when they r preparing for the eam they duunt feel confident and they postpone thir exams just do well , they keep th exam 3 months later 2 months later or what time they feel they need to perform well. so u can take it as if u r postponing ur test ,ad this was kinda like a mock exam ,take it a NBME.
thankgod u can improve ur scoes , u have that chance of improving ,ppl they do bad and they have to saty wz it 4ver ,so at elast thik of them u r bettr than them ,u can alwasy improve it, by doing a good revision and by covering ur week points. i know ppl who flunked the exam literally 4 times ,but still they did at the nd they got a 98, so u r much better than those ppl ,u can do it ,this time wz great score that u deserve.
get ready and start going towards ur goal, u can make it ,u have jsut been in that exam room ,nothing is new 4 u ,u know what type of questions they ask ,u just have to overome ur weakpoints, and u r doen .
no use of wasting ur ime in feeling bad abt th epast ,that shd encourage u more and uhave to put just a little more effort ,u r almost doen ,this examis just to improve ur score ,and u can do it im sure .
so good luck , we all r praying 4 u,. we all need these prayers plzz remebr all of us in ur prayers.

Dont worry you can do it.Just get to knowing what your weaker points were and try to stress on that and do lot of questions.I am sure you will do it.Get going.GL

thanks very much to all of you guys for your supportive and encouraging words,feeling not lonely during that hard time,there are many good friends who stand behind and give hands to help standing up again and continue what we have started long time ago to reach our goals.
still can't touch any book till now.but I'll do it because that is my only path and I'm certain that it will be done ,it's just time to pass this hurdle.

I too did not pass my s2 & I was so disappointed so I shifted to studying step 1. it's hard to fail but hey start all over again & let's do our best. As you've said you didnt feel ready when u took your exam. it happened to me I felt like I was in a hurry to take an exam just to get over it but I figured out it's not the right approach. I said to myself this time I will do the nbme so I know where I stand, this though should be after second
reading. I'm a positve person but someone told me that being positive is not enough, you have to prove to yourself that you can do it by passing the test. Does not make sense to me but I will try to do my best this time & really get over it.
That said I should be studying right now.
