A 75 year old man is brought to the physician by his family becauseof akinesia,rigidity,postural instability,and tremor
Symptoms improve with levodopa therapy,but he develops anorexia,nausea,vomiting and mild orthostatic hypotension

from what i understood,pt is already on levodopa,and which drusg is to be given to dec peripheral met. side effects..........so A.

tolcapone an COMT inhibitor.

remedy for weakness is not brooding over it ,but thinking of strength.

yes, his treatment is LDOPA but the goal is to decrease the side effects so carbidopa is the choice; you can decrease the dose with the same effect for motion problem and with few side effects.
