Complex V is the F0-F1 (ATP synthase). Oligomycin inhibits the ATPase reaction of the F1 complex

THX meg! well yes oligomycin binds to the F0 of ATP synthetase.......inhibits dissolution of proton gradient...thus inhibiting both proton pump and ATP synthesis.

To which class of antibiotics does oligomycin belong to ? What is rotenone? Is it a poison or what?

Oligomycin incidently as I found on one website belongs to macrolides but does not function on 50s. (am not sure) Rotenone is a fish poison put in lakes.
