i just finished my step 3 yesterday. It was very long 2 days, questions were very similar to those on UW. a LOT of geriatrics - old person with many diseases, many medications having odd symptoms - what do you do? Many questions ask the risk factors, very often numeric - I was guessing many times. Biostatistic - very few questions but VERY twisted - you really have to think for few minutes to choose the right answer, nothing simple as in UW. Pediatrics, obstetrics, cancer.... CCS - they don't look hard when you read the first description of the patient, but it doesn't mean you will manage it well. One case I completely went of trak and realized what I have to do correctly only after 10 min on the case - I can't believe myself! All other cases - I had problems with the clock, I think I didn;t advance it correctly or something , but it always brought me back in time, and my orders was not done, it was very frustrating. Frankly, i don;t think I passed this time - I was guessing too many questions, and CCS - i did't manage very well, but the good thing is -now I know exactly what to expect next time ( if I have to...) Generally it is a CLINICAL exam, don't study any rare diseases or medications - everything is very strait forward, but you do have to know all that common pathology in DEPTH to be able to choose the right answer (the same with medications - all common but you have to know EVERY litllle detail about side effects,, sommon effects interactions, contrraindications and etc.) many questions I was remebering at home and trying to find the correct answer, I noticed almost everything I could find in "USMLE step 2 secrets", yes step2, not 3. And of course UW was very helpful. Well, now I am just waiting for the results... tananda

Hi Tanada, Thanks for updating with the information and sharing your experiences in Step-3. Please do not sit back and wait for the results. I would say continue with the same enthusiasm until you have score card in your hand. One often tends to forget once lost touch with the material. I'm sure you will pass but still don't take your chances, otherwise have to start all over again and it takes time to catch the same momentum. I had the similar experience as you had in the exam and only scored 74 and now preparing again. I wish you good luck and keep us updated with your results.
