Hello guys. I live in Rio de janeiro and i m going to 4th year. i know most of you got started on this long road which is USMLE application but i would like to ask you for some advises for me who have decided to take this path now...How to get it started,easier localities to get to have a residence...Gosh, i m sinking in so many questions i have.
Aprecciate your help.

You should check the ecfmg site.... There you will find information about the exams.... Also if you are planning to come to the states you can check the kaplan courses in their website..

If you are in the 4th year I think you should consider taking step 2 CK first. The reason is that it is the same subjects you need to study in your clerkships and it can also help you study for the residency examinations in Brazil.
Then, after passing step 2 CK you will be more confident and motivated to study the basic sciences to step 1.
I have taken this path. Step 2 CK in the 6th year, then step 1 after I finished my residency and Step 2 CS 2 months latter.

Or you can do step 1 (which is the hardest one) first, once you pass it, you can be almost 100% sure and confident you'll pass all the others without any problem. Starting like this can help your confidence and you may need this basic knowledge to do your step 2CK. But it's completely up to you.

Well for what i know about the Brazil med system any route will be a good choice for you but a lot easier if you do Step 2 CK.
