This is Aortic aneurysm in MARFANs SYNDROME.

This is caused due to an inherited defect in an extracellular glycoprotein called FIBRILLIN.

CEDRICK could you please say if B is fibrillin? Thank you for sharing nice questions

yes its fibrillin, but wasnt among the answers.. so i went with elastin, though i know its not the exact choicesmiling face

A

  #6

as I remember fibrillin is part of elastin

  #7

Yes on this is choice A
and in another question that I just did
it is Fibrillin

  #8

If you say that the answer is ELASTIC FIBERS. I Agree.

Because Elastic fibers consist of a central core made of ELASTIN, surrounded by a network of microfibrils. The peripheral microfibrillar network that surrounds the core consists largely of FIBRILLIN.

I think ELASTIN is not correct.
Is there anyone to support this view?

Fibrillin then elastin

so yes sorry my spelling is really bad when done fast

Yes B

  #10

i read in goljan that Dissecting aortic aneurysm is due to elastic tissue fragmentation (95%) with or without cyctic medial necrosis in the media that wekens the aorta and leads to dissection.......so that might match into the choice elastin

Okay, so the answer is B, right? FIBRILLIN?
