Hello! This forum has been so helpful, and now I am in need of some advice... I realize the importance of applying as early as possible for the Match 2007, but I have a dilemma regarding exactly that! Since I am taking Step 1 in August, my scores won't be ready til the end of September, and then my Step 2CK and 2CS exams will be taken shortly after.

So- do I submit the rest of the application materials (CAF, LORs, PS...) at the earliest possible moment and just check the "awaiting scores" section for the 3 exams OR do I wait til the end of September when my Step 1 scores arrive and apply then, because then I'll at least have 1 set of scores? So the dilemma is between early submission of materials (but delayed exam scores, so not even Step 1 yet) and submission of the application later with 1 set of scores. Your thoughts? Thanks! smiling face

Dude, I dont want to discourage you, but I feel, honestly, why not consider applying for 2008 Match instead of trying to squeeze into the deadlines of 2007?

If you have the resources, do not attempt to take all the USMLEs in a cramped time frame: you may be stellar, no doubt, but why take chances with something so vital as scores!

Believe me, the difference between an 89 and 90 can be really significant!

Still, if you are committed to 2007, go for it. Take CS ASAP if you wanna make it to this match!
Goodluck!

Noone gets their usmles done within the time-frame and scores they want....but a 1996 graduate with 99/99 is BY FAR MUCH better than a 2007 graduate with multiple attempts; so everyone TAKE YOUR TIME... it's the only advantage that img's have.
