What is the embryology of the kidneys and the uterus?

kidneys - pronephros(early 4th week), mesonephros(end of fourth week), metanephros ureteric bud (early 5th week) successively . The ureteric bud induces metanephric tubules from the intermediate mesoderm. The renal calyces and distal (like pelvis, ureter) are formed from the ureteric bud and the metanephric tubules form the tubular system(PT, Henle etc)

Uterus is from the paramesonephric duct. From the two sides, they join and form the uterus, fallopian tube, cervix and upper 1/3 vagina.

Where does the mesoderm end and the ectoderm begin, as you travel from collecting duct to meatus.

  #4

The derivatives of urogenital sinus are ectodermal (trigone of bladder, and all below it in the ducts etc) The trigone is the point of transition. The ureter is from the ureteric bud.

The uterus develops solely from the paramesonephric(Mullerian) ducts of the mesonephros, which had developed from the nephrogenic ridge formed from intermediate mesoderm.

The kidneys form from a ureteric bud a diverticulum from the mesonephric (Wollfian) duct and a condensation of surrounding mesoderm which form the Renal Corpuscles and the Ureteric Bud forms largely the Renal Tubules ie collecting ducts etc.
